Job Description

Currently, we’re seeking an Inbound Supervisor to oversee our night shift operations at our global fulfillment center in Houston, TX. This skilled multitasker will manage the receiving, handling, storing, and picking activities of the warehouse, ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded. The warehouse supervisor must achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate order fulfillment, and track shipping times for millions of product orders every year. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and able to manage multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously while maintaining our core values. The supervisor will ensure competent coaching methods throughout the Inbound operations process while practicing and maintaining safety and complying with all company policies and procedures.
Role Responsibilities
The supervisor will perform functions that may include but are not limited to:
- Champion that leads through McLane Global Company Culture and Principles
- Efficiency plan and coordination of administrative activities to ensure accurate results in all receiving aspects and related operations.
- Ensure continuous improvements of operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee daily monitoring efforts to ensure productivity standards meet company/departmental standards.
- Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
- Arrange daily/weekly meetings with staff as appropriate to review overall team/individual performance.
- Confirm all Receiving deadlines are met per company standards and customer commitments.
- Ensure the process of tracking and maintaining productivity standards for each associate.
- Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to track success and/or recurring problems.
- Supports with delivering on DC budget targets for their department.
- Make sure that SOPs are always followed and utilizing appropriate methods for all customers.
- Maintain customer service standards by controlling mis-received orders and items.
- Collaborate with internal customers and partners to deliver the results and provide feedback to teams to execute a successful plan.
- Plan, manage, and maximize all inventory functions.
- Attract and retain a qualified and motivated workforce, while encouraging new ideas for improvements.
- Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and eliminate damage and spills.
- Coach and groom direct reports for excellence while documenting their progress and cross-training to provide adequate coverage in key areas.
- Provide oversight while evaluating employee performance, handle disciplinary issues, and maintain an environment of respect and accountability.
- Require a “Tour Ready” and safe work area and securing building/operations at the end of the shift.
- Report and schedule the fix of problematic equipment to vendors.
- Responsible for managing the operation performance results of the assigned department.
- Responsible for hiring, training, annual review process, performance engagement, development, and coaching.
- All other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Minimum experience of 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role in a distribution operation environment.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in WMS, Labor Scheduling Standards, Excel, and Word
- Experience using automation or MHE (material handling equipment)
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment
- Flexible and adaptable with schedules that require weekends and occasional after-hours to complete priority tasks
- Able to read, write, and speak both English & Spanish fluently

- Medium – Work (lifting not more than 50 lbs. at a time, with frequent lifting / carrying of 25 lbs.)
