JOB DESCRIPTION

McLane Global is looking for a hybrid role of Sanitation Tech and Facility Maintenance Technician to be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, operation and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the operations goals and objectives while maintaining a clean facility. The sanitation tech will perform routine custodial duties as described below.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain the facility’s equipment
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during operations and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during service
- Carry out scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance tasks as required
- Records and documents working history on all equipment for facilities via a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Provide mechanical support to all departments within the Distribution Center
- Perform basic plumbing tasks which includes the repair, replacement or installation of faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, and toilets
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair to include Material Handling Equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks to include conveyor belts and packaging equipment
- Paint or repair windows, doors, walls, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Perform minor carpentry and masonry work
- Maintain established schedule of preventive maintenance
- Overseeing 3rd party tradesmen during installations, repairs, or maintenance (electricians, plumbers,)
- Overseeing regular maintenance vendors activities
- Develops a weekly schedule and assists operations in determining job priorities
- Assure proper administration of company policies and procedures. Adhere to all relevant Federal and Local Safety and Productivity Guidelines such as SQF, OSHA, ADA, and other required regulations
- Complete knowledge of all OSHA and safety procedures with record keeping
- Follow all safety policies in McLane’s Global safety program and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Responsible for planning and prioritizing projects
- Prepare for all regulatory audits and take corrective action as directed
- Work with operating departments to ensure that daily needs and department preventative maintenance goals are established and met
- Responsible for the maintenance of building and material handling equipment as well as overseeing 3rd party tradesmen during installations, repairs, or maintenance.
- Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies
- Assist with emptying trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- All other duties as assigned by Management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- HS Diploma
- 5 years related experience
- Strong problem-solving skills

- Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computer software, hardware & equipment
- Ability to perform the following physical activities: stooping, reaching, standing, walking, feeling, talking, and hearing
- Requires working in both internal and external environments subject to variation in temperature
- Work is classified as active with the requirements of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body

- Must be able to transport up to 50lbs
- Must be able to position self to kneel and crawl
- Repetitive use of hands or body movement
- Stepping up and down, ascending/descending stairs on forklift.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, or typing
- Must be able to position arms and hands above head or to full extension
- Grasping to apply pressure to an object with fingers, thumb, and palm
- Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold
- Ability to walk (move) consistently for up to 8 hours
