Founded in 1958 as M-C International, McLane Global established business as a dominantplayer throughout the Pacific trading world, serving clients along theWestern Pacific Rim, Oceania and the Americas.M-C International built a heritage known for operating in diverse markets,introducing product lines into new markets and nurturing relationships oflong standing clients.
The company’s success and forward thinkingcaught the interest of world renowned entrepreneur and third generationgrocery wholesaler Drayton McLane, Jr. McLane recognized that the potential ofcombining these two strengths, made expanding the McLane family’s 102 year legacy as one of America’s largest food wholesalers to a global market, a natural fit.
In mid-1994 the acquisition was completed and M-C joined the McLane Group of companies and created a powerful and dynamic force within theGlobal Sourcing business. In 2002, M-C International became known as M-C McLane International and in 2005 moved headquarters to TheWoodlands, Texas. The first decade of the new millennium saw M-CMcLane strengthen its own label, Lady Liberty, and expand intosourcing for domestic retailers as a natural extension of its export business.
In 2010 the company unveiled its current name as a representation of its reach and to celebrate the opening of its worldwide headquarters in Houston, Texas. This headquarters includes a state of the art distribution facility specializing in a broad range of order fulfillment. From single units, to pallets, containers and truckloads the Houston facility is the centerpiece of a global distribution network. Also in 2010, McLane Global initiated a reboot of its 20 year old international brand, Lady Liberty with the strategic vision for a brand that will meet the needs of both domestic and international customers.
Led by CEO, Mike Julian and armed with a staff of seasoned global trading experts, McLane Global charges into the 21st century guided by the proven principles of success put in place by Drayton McLane and the simple idea that:
